The writing group has been running quite well for quite a few weeks now. An article in the local paper drummed up some more support, and last week we had the launch of the local story writing competition. James Phelan, well known author of Patriot Act and Fox Hunt chatted to the group and had a Q&A, and next week we have a writing workshop with another author.
Just started more ideas for books and short stories, I've submitted a poem to the Deepening and am working on some non-fiction. Check out my other blog, which has posts about my Broome holiday.

Writing group

Yesterday afternoon was the successful start to the writing group I helped to instigate. Approximately 50 people booked to join the workshop, with approximately 35 people attending. Held for three hours, well-known author Carmel Bird held the workshop and gave us all exercises to do. Some of the talent I heard today was incredible. I start the actual writing group in a couple weeks and am running the first on my own. Should be quite interesting to see how it goes - I can only hope it's near as successful as the workshop was.

Intro Post

My name is Stef and welcome to my blog. Here I'll write about the delights and frustrations of life, the universe and everything in between, with a dash of humor for flavour. I want to some day be a published author, and plan on chronicling the stages of writing here.
I'm also thinking of learning freelance writing as well do will also blog that. In between writing, there'll be occasional rants and stories about things going on in my life.
